Bank Nizwa, Oman’s leading Islamic bank, supported a group of Omani women entrepreneurs on a visit to Uzbekistan. The initiative highlights the bank’s commitment to helping women take a bigger role in business and to promoting Oman’s growing presence in global entrepreneurship.

The trip was arranged by Funoon Hospitality and Tourism Group with the support of Dr. Siham Al Harthy, a board member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The visit focused on promoting women’s leadership and opening new business opportunities for Omani entrepreneurs.

Fifteen women from sectors like education, healthcare, tourism, finance, fashion, food and real estate met Uzbek business leaders and explored ways to strengthen trade and partnerships between the two countries.

Representing Bank Nizwa, Ms. Iman Al Toubi, Senior Manager of Global Trade Services, and Ms. Farhat Al Harasi, Qurum Branch Manager, took part in the visit. They shared how Islamic finance supports Oman’s entrepreneurs.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Khalid Al Kayed, CEO of Bank Nizwa, praised the determination and creativity of Omani women entrepreneurs, highlighting their key role in the nation’s progress. He said that women in business continue to show great innovation and strength, helping to drive Oman’s sustainable economic growth. “We are proud to support their journey and remain committed to empowering women and building a more inclusive economy,” he added.

Bank Nizwa was represented on the visit by Iman Al Toubi, Senior Manager of Global Trade Services, and Farhat Al Harasi, Qurum Branch Manager. The initiative also shows the bank’s efforts to make Oman a center for women-led innovation and international business partnerships.
