Background

BankDhofar won the Excellence in Women’s Banking Product Innovation Award in Oman. The bank earned the honour for financial products and services it built specifically for Omani women and women-led small and medium-sized enterprises.

Sayyida Dr. Taghreed bint Turki Al Said patronised the conference, which drew female entrepreneurs, senior leaders and decision-makers from across sectors. Under the theme “Women’s Leadership: A Driver of the Future Economy,” discussions centred on what women bring to Oman’s economic growth under Vision 2040.

Ghadeer Al Lawati, Deputy General Manager and Head of Project Finance and GREs at BankDhofar, sat on a panel covering women’s leadership and the future economy. She pointed to the growing role Omani women play in directing investment toward innovation, clean energy and sustainable development.

Al Lawati noted that Omani women today run both small businesses and large companies, hold board seats across corporates and family enterprises, and occupy senior roles in banking, placing them at the heart of investment strategy and economic policy.

The event also honoured the Top 20 Female Leaders in Oman, spotlighting women whose work has shaped institutions and communities across the country.
BankDhofar said its involvement in the conference ties directly to its broader push for diversity, inclusion, and community development.

The bank also said it views female talent as a long-term national asset, one that, when given leadership opportunities, positions Oman more competitively on regional and global stages.
