Princess Reema’s “Lavender Ribbon” Campaign Gains Momentum Across Saudi Arabia

Princess Reema’s “Lavender Ribbon” campaign received strong support this week, with groups joining to promote early cancer checks and healthy habits. 

Through her 10KSA organization, Princess Reema encouraged the public to share social media posts highlighting habits that reduce cancer risk. She also took part in a walk with students from King Khalid University in Abha and gave a speech explaining the initiative’s 10-year history and its mission to raise awareness about breast cancer. 

Over the years, the 10KSA initiative has expanded to cover awareness for other types of cancer as well. Princess Reema expressed gratitude to participating organizations and thanked individuals who shared their personal stories of struggle, healing, and recovery. 

During the week, she visited Riyadh Air headquarters, where company representatives showcased their efforts in promoting early cancer detection. Minister of Health Fahd AlJalajel attended a 10KSA ceremony and posted on X: “We continue, within the healthcare system, our efforts to provide support for this promising initiative.” 

Many organizations supported the campaign, including the Saudi Camel Federation, Ministry of Communications, Saudi Esports and Hockey Federations, Ministry of Investment, Environmental Fund, and Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz Al-Faisal. Sports Boulevard shared an aerial image of people forming a lavender ribbon, stating: “Let’s be part of raising awareness and stand together for health.”
