Background

Fuze, a fast-growing financial infrastructure company in the Middle East and Turkey, has appointed Serena Sebastiani as its new Group Chief Strategy and Venture Officer.

Sebastiani joins Fuze after serving as the Virtual Assets Consulting lead at PwC Middle East. She also holds leadership roles in the regional fintech community, including Co-Chair of the MENA Fintech Association’s Digital Assets Committee and President of GCC at the Association for Women in Cryptocurrency.

In her new role, Sebastiani will lead Fuze’s strategic growth and help scale its core offerings, including its institutional over-the-counter trading desk, digital-assets-as-a-service platform and payments infrastructure. She will also guide the company’s long-term roadmap for its API-based financial services designed for banks, institutions and enterprises.

Sebastiani said her decision to join Fuze reflects her long involvement in building the UAE’s digital assets ecosystem. She said she looks forward to working with the leadership team to expand a business she believes strongly in.

Fuze CEO and co-founder Mo Ali Yusuf said Sebastiani brings rare expertise in strategy, virtual assets and regulation. He added that her experience will support Fuze as it works to scale secure and compliant digital finance services across the region and beyond.

Sebastiani has spent more than 15 years advising financial institutions, governments and regulators across Europe and the Middle East. She has helped shape regulatory frameworks for fintech and digital assets, including supporting the creation of the region’s first Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority.

Founded by a team with backgrounds in fintech, traditional finance and decentralised finance, Fuze offers tools that allow banks and businesses to embed regulated digital asset products. Its platform supports wealth and payment services and provides a secure OTC service for institutions and high-net-worth clients.

With this appointment, Fuze wants to strengthen its leadership as it grows as a major digital assets infrastructure provider in the Middle East and Turkey.
