Key Background :
Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has taken a major step forward in digitizing urban transportation by adding more than 6,000 of its vehicles to the Bolt ride-hailing platform. This large-scale integration aims to streamline access to taxis across the emirate and aligns with Dubai’s Smart Mobility Strategy, which aims to digitalize 80% of taxi rides.
The increased fleet includes the ordinary taxis and the additional facilities of Ladies and Family Taxis and People of Determination vehicles. This includes all segments of Dubai residents. The customers can book the DTC vehicles very easily on the Bolt app with the added benefit of no surge pricing and cashback offer promotions.
As a step towards promoting bulk usage, Bolt is providing 30% cashback on the initial three DTC cab rides booked via its application. It is part of a mega campaign to acclimatize people towards convenience and reliability of travel via the app for daily commuting requirements. It further increases customer satisfaction via assured stability of fares during rush hour.
Union is the key theme of DTC’s 2025–2029 plan, where its core emphasis lies in digitalization, sustainability, and installation of smart mobility services. DTC is already a transport titan in the UAE with more than 9,500 vehicles and 18,000 drivers. Besides this Bolt acquisition, it fortifies its grip even further and provides new horizons of revenues and operations expansion.
With the competitive local e-hailing market, collaborations between top mobility platforms and major transport operators will fuel the innovation. The initiative positions the public transport system in the future and takes Dubai closer to becoming a world leader in smart city mobility.
