Key Background:
The Women in Tech Forum will be held at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) on September 29, 2025. The event will invite women leaders in different fields to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and the place of women in the field of technology.
The issues addressed in the forum will include women’s health, new technologies, conscious consumer trends, and smarter living. It will also have a CEO Circle panel and a youth session with Sharjah Youth Council to engage both the leaders and the young people.
Among the main speakers are Dr Mariam Matar, media personality Lujain Omran, and Andrea Prazakova, Executive Vice President at Mastercard. They will be joined by other well-known experts and leaders in science, technology, and innovation.
Hussein Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTIP, emphasized the importance of the event: “The Women in Tech Forum is a dynamic international platform that inspires future generations and broadens opportunities for women in science and technology. Global statistics indicate that women make up only 23% of the tech workforce, while female founders represent just 14% of startups, which receive less than 3% of global venture capital funding.
The number of women graduates in STEM is 56 percent in the UAE, which is a great success in terms of STEM enrollments. These figures highlight the urgent need for platforms like Women in Tech to accelerate women’s empowerment in technology and innovation.
Juma Al Haj, Director of Strategic Communication and Marketing at SRTIP, added: “We have curated a diverse and engaging program with top speakers delivering impactful sessions. “Our goal is to give participants meaningful insights while encouraging more women to take part in the technology sector. We welcome everyone to be part of this important event.”
The Women in Tech Forum 2025 reflects SRTIP’s strong commitment to gender balance, innovation, and supporting women as key contributors to science, technology, and entrepreneurship in the UAE.
