Background-

UAE preloved fashion platform Luved will expand across the Gulf region and launch an AI shopping assistant this year, founder and chief executive Shaima Sibtain said.

Sibtain launched Luved after struggling to rehome secondhand items through informal channels in the UAE, including multiple drop-off trips and unregulated online groups.

The platform plans to add Arabic language support, gamified gifting features and a new Home and Living category, Sibtain said. Luved authenticates items using Entrupy artificial intelligence combined with human review.

The company is the first Entrupy partner in Dubai to use the technology. Fingerprint verification confirms buyers receive the exact item authenticated at listing.

The platform also uses artificial intelligence to generate quick listings and suggested pricing, giving sellers a starting value before they set their own price.
The platform currently charges sellers zero commission during its pilot phase. Buyers pay a 10 percent protection fee plus a delivery charge covering packaging. Sibtain said the platform will introduce a 10 percent seller commission once the pilot phase ends.

Sellers on Luved stay verified and retain control of listings until a sale closes. The platform processes delivery, payments and refunds automatically. The company will add a business-to-business channel for preloved sellers.

Luved runs a community initiative called The Founding 500, offering members badges and priority access. The company has also added a female driver to its delivery team.

The platform separately runs a giving initiative called Luved and Gifted, letting users pass on items to others at no cost. Sibtain named live selling her top growth priority for the platform.
